Founded in 1999 by six men, in just six years our group has expanded seven-fold, to a regular performance membership of forty-two. Steven SeGraves has been Music Director since its founding. The LMC has presented a vast and varied repertoire at numerous venues in Greater Detroit, at a consistently high performance level, attracting an ever-expanding audience and a devoted following. In 2004 the group was formally organized as a Michigan non-profit corporation for educational and cultural purposes. Its application for federal tax-deductible and tax-exempt status is pending. The Executive Board oversees all activities, and its officers conduct all regular LMC business. The chorus is open to new singers through a brief voice-placement audition by appointment with the Music Director, in September and January of each year. For audition information, or to join as a General Member & support the LMC’s activities and purposes, please speak to a group member, Contact Us, or e-mail LMC Manager & President, Ron Muresan, ron@deapugroup.com, mobile (248) 561-6186.

WSU MGC 1956-1960
Congratulations and Best wishes for a most successful 2008 singing season. I sang for Harry in the 50's and have never forgotten the experience. I have just had those old LP's digitized and stereo enhanced and they sound terrific. Also have started to search for members of the Glee Club from those years and have found Ed Kingins, Nortie Bicoll, Art Lieb, Bob Harris and of course Brazeal Dennard. I would love to find out about the rest of our group. Again, may I wish you a great year. I live in Boston now but would plan to come back for a concert sometime. Bob

Re: About Us
A bit of History - I just finished reviewing alll the pictures posted as a part of Harry's retirement celebration and found my picture (IMG030.jpg) along with Rollie Sharette and Doc receiving an award from hizzoner the Mayor of Detroit, I think it was Mayor Miriani at the time. That would have been in 1958 I think. Happy memories. bb

Re: Wow! What a Tour! (To be 2nd in the world!)
What a wonderful time! At the Eisteddfod our 64-plus group boarded at The Ruthin School for Boys & Girls - I wonder whether that qualifies us as "Old Boys" and "Old Girls"? In which case we would be "Old Ruthenians". But seriously, we felt honored at all the wonderful wishes that so many friends of LMC posted on the Eisteddfod website! Please check us out on the Live Streaming Video - Eisteddfod link: www.llangollen.tv To put our Second Prize into perspective - the wonderful 1965 MGC Tour Group earned FOURTH prize, and LMC captured SECOND - and that against a seasoned 60-man show choir!
