Greetings to the new Langsford Men's Chorus website!  (United States)

To everyone who knows Harry M. Langsford, Ph.D., all the best. He still lives and moves among us, and moves us with the example of his life and musicianship.

The work of Langsford Men's Chorus is to carry on ensemble choir performance at the highest levels we can attain; that is what we learned from Doc Langsford. To bring out from each other the very best we have to give.

As Board President, I invite everyone who visits this site to think of it as everyone's own. Use it as a place to Blog your way around, to navigate The Langsford Heritage & Tradition.

The organization has two classes of membership - performing member and general member. Please consider joining as a General Member, even if you are not going to take part as a singer. Before our Spring Concert in May, we hope to have the Membership Page set up, that will accept Pay Pal. During the first week this website was "live," we had nearly 400 hits, only 42% of them from Michigan. Others were from New Jersey, Virginia, Missouri, Nevada, California. Please tell your friends about the site - we want to assemble as many Langsford alumni and friends as possible!

The Langsford Men's Chorus has set a high standard for itself, and is taking on a major goal: that we travel to Wales in July, 2008 and compete in the International Musical Eisteddfod bearing the Langsford name to the site of his many glories. Some of you will want to join our group and travel with us, and you will be welcome. Others will want to express your support with gifts of money, time and effort. Those are just as essential.

The group is proud to have Steve SeGraves as our founding Music Director, Fred Rohrbach as Associate Director, and Walt Cory as Accompanist. Their great musicianship makes the LMC what it is today, one of the premier male voice choirs in the American Midwest, sought after by major venues in our nation's heartland. We filled the house to capacity last Advent 2006, at Christ Church Cranbrook, and have been invited back for 2007. Watch this site, please, for our other concerts, leading up to our 2008 European Tour.

The LMC will accept and archive any Langsford memorabilia that you might wish to donate. If the material is very old or requires restoration, the Board will discuss with the donor whether a money donation might be appropriate to assist with its preservation. For example, we have received old Eisteddfod banners, mini-cassette tapes of live MGC and Chamber Singers Concerts, etc. LMC will always treasure every act of generosity.
