Artistic Director and Conductor
Steve co-founded the Langsford Men's Chorus in 1999. He holds the Bachelors degree in Music Education from Wayne State University and the Masters degree in Music Composition from Oakland University. He has been Assistant Conductor of the three- time world champion Wayne State Men's Glee Club and of the WSU Chamber Singers mixed-voice choir, of the Meadowbrook Estate Show Choir of Oakland University, and the Langsford Singers of Detroit.
Paul Bechler received his Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education with a piano emphasis at the University of Michigan, and a Master of Arts degree in Teaching and Learning from Nova Southeastern University. In addition to playing for weddings, social events, and Solo & Ensemble Festivals, Paul has served as Minister of Music in several churches and on the music staff at the Maranatha Bible and Missionary Conference on Lake Michigan in Norton Shores, Michigan. He has also been the Music Director for several of the Oak Pointe Player’s in Novi, Michigan musical productions. He is currently the organist/pianist at Highland Park Baptist Church in Southfield, and teaches elementary music in the Walled Lake Consolidated School District. He has been the accompanist for the Langford Men’s Chorus since 2011.
Justin Umbarger is an educator, conductor, and freelance musician in the Metro-Detroit area. Since receiving his first professional gig at age 13, he has performed across the country and Europe, in addition to the Detroit area. Besides conducting, he regularly performs on piano, organ, voice, and trumpet.
Justin has studied conducting with Dr. Andrew Kreckmann and Douglas Bianchi, organ with Dr. Ronald Prowse, and trumpet with Dr. Mark Flegg and Ray Oset. He holds a Masters of Music in Choral Conducting and a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, both from Wayne State University.
Currently, Justin is the Choral Director at Meads Mill Middle School in Northville Public Schools.
Justin and his wife, Julianne, live in Ferndale.
